The Saline Fiddlers had a wonderful tour of Germany, including an extended visit in Saline's sister city of Lindenberg im Allgäu. Departure from Detroit Metro Airport and overnight flight to Frankfurt, Germany
Bus ride from Frankfurt to the old city of Heidelberg, then on to Bad Urach, near Tübingen
Exploring Ann Arbor's sister city, then an outdoor concert in the old city
A day spent with host families, getting to know them and our home-away-from home
A visit to Gymnasium Lindenberg and a performance for all of the students, a meeting with the Buergermeister (Mayor) in City Hall, a tour of Lindenberg's Liebherr plant, and a concert in the nearby town of Wangen
All-day sightseeing trip in the Bavarian Alps, followed by a barbecue party thrown by our host families
Sightseeing along the coast of Lake Constance, including an old castle, a primate preserve, and a beautiful church, then a concert at Lindau Island's harbor
A gondola ride to the top of Hochgrat Mountain, where we performed our two highest-altitude shows
Our last day in Lindenberg, which ended with a very memorable concert in the town square
Bus ride to Rudolstadt, home of Germany's largest world music festival, where we performed two shows to enthusiastic audiences
